Http://musicslut.blogspot.com : “Say hello to Iceland’s new electronic sensation, FM Belfast. Imagine what would happen if the members of !!!, Royksopp, The Knife and Justice had a shy lovechild and you’re a little closer to FM Belfast’s core sound. LOVE IT!” Even before their first release, Icelanders FM Belfast have already been getting plenty of attention. NME, Spin Magazine, the BBC and blogs from all parts of the globe have already taken notice and started to pay serious attention to this mayhem loving group of talented young musicians. Helmed by Arni, Loa and another Arni (and joined by up to 8 other people onstage for their live shows and cow-bell percussion-offs) FM Belfast inject a serious amount of fun into their tongue in cheek flavour of electronic/disco/dance music. While they’re still hard at work on their debut album, Thugfucker are rightly proud to bring out their very first release ever… An amazing cover version of Rage Against The Machine’s classic that has been twisted into a sweeeet sweet electro-disco number by the voices of Arni, Arni & Loa. There really are no words for this. Best just to listen. On the remix front, Kasper Bjorke provides the most straightforward club mix of the group. Astute readers will note that FM Belfast did a guest appearance on his recent album. Well no good favor goes unrewarded and Kasper has come back with an expertly crafted, banging dancefloor friendly remix. His vocal version is really not to be missed while the instrumental is definitely a great all around DJ tool. In addition, Antipop (from French group Telepopmusik) and Gaea put together a brilliant, freakier party central mix with a little homage to RATM in the mix… Play it at the right moment and watch the crowd go wild! (This mix is *ONLY* on the vinyl… one love to the vinylheads!) Long live FM Belfast! Expect to hear a lot more about these guys in the future!
